In this week’s video, I’m diving into the next round of exploration around patient documentation. I’ve been able to see how Epic handles the progress note and template functionality and break down some of the reasons why I think this is the wrong approach.
This is not meant to bash Epic or the people who work there in any way. There are many hard-working, smart people (definitely smarter than me) who work there and are doing their best to make a difference. I believe the reason these features have been implemented the way they have been, is due to the constraints of existing technology and the nature of a large 40-year-old corporate software company.
